Created in 1955, the "Fédération Nationale des Gîtes de France" is the European leading provider of homestay accommodation. 47,000 owners open up their homes to house guests and offer 60,000 different holiday lets (B&Bs, group accommodation, campsites, chalets, etc.) throughout France. They're located in the countryside, the mountains and by the sea, and - since 2011 - they also offer accommodation in Europe's cities with their new endeavour City Break Gîtes de France® (homestay rental by the night or entire properties let by the week or for other short stays).
