Gavekal Fathom China is Gavekal's corporate research unit focused on companies, industries and corporate situations in China. Our readers are institutional investors and company executives who need targeted research involving on-the-ground information and analysis. Gavekal Fathom China's founder and president, Matthew Forney, has lived in China for 25 years. Before setting up Fathom China, he served as Beijing Bureau Chief of Time magazine, and as a Beijing-based reporter for The Wall Street Journal. Our research director earned a masters degree in public health from Harvard University and has been with Fathom China since its inception. Our research analyst earned a master's degree in journalism from the University of California, Berkeley. Other team members have relevant journalism or industry experience.
