Great Blue Heron

The Great Blue Heron Music Festival was first held in 1992. Our motivation was the desire to host what we thought would be a Saturday afternoon barbecue/gathering featuring our good friends Donna the Buffalo, but our inspiration was the beautiful, virtually mystical piece of land on which we stood to plan the event. Before we left our first meeting, it became clear that we just had to have a full-blown three-day affair. Located in the Amish-inhabited rolling hills of Western New York's Chautauqua County, the site virtually planned the layout for us.
