Grenada Industrial Development

In 2005 the Grenada Industrial Development Corporation established a Business Resource Centre with assistance from USAID to enhance efficiency, innovation, and growth of existing and new enterprises in Grenada. The Centre provided basic business services such as preparation of business plans, business diagnostics, and record keeping. In 2006, the decision was made to transform the Centre into a one- stop business support unit for the development of small businesses. The transition of the Centre was brought about through the implementation of a number of key initiatives: 1. The merger of the Small Enterprise Development Unit of the Grenada Development Bank with the Business Resource Centre 2. The change of the Centre's name from Business Resource Centre to the Business Development Centre 3. The expansion of the service offering to include a business library and information unit 4. The provision of technical support under the Business Gateway Project to include the establishment of an enterprise tracking system, the strengthening of the capacity of staff, a study of the enabling environment and technical support to SME's. 5. The provision of further technical support under the Public Sector Modernization Project to include enhancing the capacity of staff to provide business training, establishment of a training facility and the provision of training to SME's. We provide services to small businesses in all industries including tourism and hospitality, entertainment, transportation, construction, manufacturing, agro-processing, informatics, creative (arts and craft) distribution and retail.
