GringoTree is your trusted source when it comes to living abroad in Ecuador. We are dedicated to providing you with valuable information and opportunities so you can enjoy the cultural diversity and international excitement that accompany life at zero latitude. GringoTree was created by Cuenca expats Penny Ripple and David Morrill and launched from the news blog, CuencaHighLife.com, in December 2008. For four years, GringoTree was a free service, available to advertisers, event promoters, sellers, buyers, recommenders, and information seekers. It was a not-for-profit service, with David covering the expenses. David also ran it alone till early 2011, when Deke Castleman volunteered to share the duties. In June 2012, Richard Verkley and Bob Gordon partnered with David and Deke to expand GringoTree. GringoTree.com/Cuenca launched on November 12, 2012.
