Handtrans

Handtrans operate from a modern warehouse covering 40,000 sq ft on a site of 4 acres with all outside areas being concreted. As a member of Palletforce with over 100 depots, Handtrans are able to offer a delivery/collection service to/from all parts of the UK by using the overnight trunking facility via the 'state of the art' facilities at Burton-upon-Trent. Handtrans was first established in 1998 by Mel and Steph Hand. It was a natural progression for Mel who had been working as an owner driver delivering consignments throughout the UK as a sub contractor for other well known companies in the local area. He was able to bring this knowledge to the 'traffic desk' and enable him to develop one of the largest groupage operations in the area dealing with the import and export of consignments on the south bank of the Humber! This theme has created the backbone of the company with two other members of staff also having HGV experience! Handtrans operate a modern fleet of liveried vehicles which are all maintained by local dealers to ensure reliability and therefore, the safe and on time arrival of the consignments that they are carrying! Handtrans became a member of Palletforce in 2004. Having been a member of another pallet network, Handtrans decided to join Palletforce because the networks reputation for delivering high quality and service excellence logistics. Currently the network has 88 members covering in excess of 100 depots and on any one working day, there are over 3000 vehicles delivering consignments. The network is now developing a European delivery service and because of this, Handtrans can now offer very competitive rates to most areas. All consignments sent via Palletforce are tracked throughout their journey and for customers who send large volumes, Handtrans are able to provide a direct link in to the tracking system which will a provide signature capture on the day of delivery.
