Hastings Christian School

Hastings Christian School is an evangelical, non-denominational, State Integrated Special Character school. We seek to deliver the New Zealand Curriculum in a quality fashion from a Biblical perspective. It is our conviction that we are made to live for something more than ourselves and that a life lived without reference to its creator will fail to achieve its full purpose and potential. For that reason we aim to do more than just fill a child's head with knowledge; we strive to help students grow in wisdom as they are challenged to live their lives for His glory. The school's vision statement is drawn from Romans 12:2b and states 'Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.' It is only as students are presented with the person of Christ and the principles of God's Word that they will have any hope of living wisely. In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. He is the source of wisdom and the standard that we call students to measure their lives against. For this reason we aim to help the students think God's thoughts after Him as they learn to distinguish truth from error and in doing so develop a Biblical worldview. At Hastings Christian School we recognize that each child is uniquely gifted with skills and abilities that require shaping and nurturing.
