The Heathland School
The Heathland School is committed to working in partnership with industry and community groups locally, nationally and internationally in our aim to provide a broader and richer education for pupils. We have seen these links growing from strength to strength in the last year and we are grateful for the ways in which such partnerships benefit the school community. Students of all ages and abilities have the opportunity to participate in industry related activities and all Year 11 students complete work experience placements. A significant number of Sixth Form students also take part in work experience programmes both in this country and abroad. The 'Industry Links' programme is an important feature of the school and has given students significant insights into the world of work. Large number of students have taken part in whole day activities which have sought to develop team-building, thinking skills and decision-making. The school has also entered pupils for numerous competitions such as the Springboard Challenge, BAA Engineering Challenge, the National Parliament Competition, the Design and Technology Challenge and the Thames Water Reservoir to Tap Challenge.
