Helsingin Energia is one of the largest energy companies in Finland. They sell electric energy to approximately 400 000 customers, and heat up more than 90 per cent of buildings in Helsinki with district heat. In addition, they produce district cooling, which is expanding rapidly in the capital. Electricity, heat and cooling, cogeneration has been awarded the world's cities as the most effective energy solution. Helsingin Energia collect the heat generated by people and recycle it. They create energy from wood, wind and the sun as well as develop new, intelligent solutions for energy use and production of solar energy and electric transport.
