Your room has views over gardens and parkland and those who do wish to venture out will discover a wealth of attractions and activities within a short drive, including stately homes and gardens, shopping centres, unspoilt countryside and much more. The public rooms, with their wealth of historic furniture and pictures, offer ample room, even when the house is full, for quiet and private relaxation by the fire. Our Chefs are experts at offering exciting yet traditional fare, complemented by an excellent choice from the well-stocked cellar. At our country hotels, a walk in the gardens and parks can be a stroll or much longer, offering horticultural pleasures and distant views down avenues to castles or follies. Each hotel boasts a magnificent Spa with a large swimming pool, gymnasium and treatment rooms offering all that is necessary for exercise, health & beauty treatments. It may interest you to learn something of the aims and objectives of our company which was founded in 1979. Our policy has been to acquire and rescue run-down country houses, which we have then restored and converted to historically accurate standards reinstating original features. We have decorated them in a traditional country house style, with antiques, so that the restored buildings once again look like well-kept, well-furnished private houses. Outside, an equally thorough restoration of the gardens, park and garden buildings has taken place, including the planting of many trees, so that the setting is once again worthy of the architecture. The theme of country-house comfort and excellence also dictates our somewhat old fashioned style of hotel-keeping, and of the food that we serve in the dining room. We hope that you, will find that during your visit it is a pleasure to experience something of Britain's architectural heritage, together with high standards of hotel-keeping, for which only a very few allowances need to be made for the fact that the buildings are around 300 years old.
