Hot Metal Press is a family run business combining the 62 years printing expertise of Geoff and Steve Willis. Founder Geoff Willis has been in the printing trade since 1960. While in the RAF Geoff trained as a calligrapher and commercial artist at York Art College. After demobilising in 1957, he worked as a graphic artist, and founded his first company Willis & Co Printers in Hoyland in 1960. Since then he's been involved with a number of successful printing firms in and around Barnsley. He founded Hot Metal Press in 1991. Steve Willis has been printing since he was just 12 years old. As a young lad, he developed a fascination with typesetting and printing while helping out at Uncle Geoff's latest venture, Hot Metal Press. Steve formally trained for his future career at Leeds College of Technology and Art, where he completed his certification in Reprographics in 1997. He then went on to work at Barnsley Printing Services for several years, but left to rejoin his Uncle Geoff at Hot Metal Press as partner in 2003.
