At Hotscot we manage the domain renewals for the majority of our clients, and domains are renewed by us up to a month before the renewal date to be sure no problems arise. However, some people prefer to manage their domain themselves and if they do so they should be aware of the consequences of non-renewal and set a reminder in their diary of the date that their domain has to be renewed. Every year we have a few clients who choose to manage their own domain renewals and then forget to renew so that it then takes a lot of time and effort to retrieve the domain and restore services. On a couple of occasions their domains were lost forever.
