The Hughston Clinic, a nationally known orthopaedic group, is pleased to announce its partnership with Premier Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, based in Nashville, Tennessee, to provide superior orthopaedic care to the mid-Tennessee region. Located in Columbus, Georgia, the Hughston orthopaedic group was founded in 1949 by Jack C. Hughston, MD, and has been recognized both nationally and internationally for quality treatment of musculoskeletal injury and disease. The Hughston Clinic, along with the nationally ranked Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital, is physician owned and operated. Premier Orthopaedics will take on the Hughston name and treat patients at eight different locations throughout Tennessee. Hughston CEO Mark Baker was instrumental in forging a relationship with Premier President, Dr. Joseph A. Wieck, and CEO, Linda ClenDening, as well as their exceptionally skilled orthopaedic physicians. Since assuming office in 2009, Mr. Baker has been working to make Jack Hughston's vision of offering the highest level of orthopaedic and trauma care in the Southeast a reality. Currently, the Hughston Clinic manages several orthopaedic clinics and orthopaedics in Level II trauma centers in Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and Tennessee. The Premier physicians, who will begin seeing patients under the Hughston name on September 26th of this year, specialize in general orthopaedics, including bone health, fracture care, foot & ankle, elbow, hand, hip, knee, shoulder, osteoporosis, as well as spinal problems and sports medicine.
