International Christian University
ICU was established in 1953 to cultivate capable people who serve God and humankind and contribute to lasting peace. As the first liberal arts college in Japan, the university has promoted thorough bilingual education in dialogue-oriented classes. In the 60 years since the foundation of ICU, a sea change in technology has transformed our economy with AI, robots and big data. However, global issues such as poverty and famine remain unresolved, with such problems becoming ever more complex. Amidst this background, ICU provides flexible, free-thinking approaches that go beyond narrow specialization to solve global-scale problems. ICU's mission today is to cultivate a substantial number of alumni to spearhead innovative changes in society.
