IE CHP

IE-CHP is a joint venture established in 2008 by SSE plc (SSE) - one of the UK's largest energy companies, supplying electricity and gas to residential and commercial customers - and Intelligent Energy Holdings (IEH) - a world leading fuel cell technology development company. Since its formation, the business has also attracted investment from the Scottish Investment Bank (SIB), part of Scottish Enterprise, the Scottish Government's investment and economic growth vehicle. The combination of IE-CHP and partner strengths within our target markets will accelerate considerably the commercialisation of heat and power products. Our technology agnostic approach also allows us to respond flexibly to the rapidly evolving demands of the decentralised CHP market. With our own 10kW fuel cell system for the industrial and commercial (I&C) market and our partnership models for the residential sector, IE-CHP is well positioned to make a commercial impact in the heat and power market. The patented technology behind the company's intellectual property for reformers and fuel cells underpins the core strengths of the business.
