I & H Brown operates a mature and robust Health and Safety Management system which has evolved over time to reflect the safety and business needs of a growing company. In 2008, we developed the Health and Safety Management System to a sufficiently high standard to gain accreditation to OHSAS 18001. This completed the long term business plan to have all three of our systems, Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality, accredited to nationally recognised standards. The concept of our Health and Safety Management System is simple. We have the minimum amount of paperwork contained within a controlled manual issued out to the Manual Holders. Each section of the manual will either have a summary and the associated contents held within the manual or will have a summary and an index referring the manual holder to the relevant forms, guidance, legislation or procedure which is held electronically on the Company?s Intranet. The Health and Safety Management System is accredited to OHSAS 18001. The Third Party awarding the accreditation is BM Trada. All audits of our system are undertaken externally every six months by BM Trada.
