The Institute of Mine Seismology (IMS) is the leading microseismic monitoring technology provider to mines world wide. We are an independent private research organization focused on developing methodologies, technologies and services for monitoring and modelling the seismic rock mass response to mining. Based in offices in Australia, South Africa and Canada, the 54 staff of the IMS have qualifications that include 11 PhD, 14 MSc and 12 Bachelor degrees with a collective 300 years of experience in this field. In 2010, the IMS bought the businesses and assets of ISS International and ISS Pacific. IMS currently supports 242 customers in 35 countries. There are 56 active IMS seismic monitoring systems in Australia, 49 in South Africa, 39 in China and 98 in the rest of the world.
