Incident Tracker

Incident Tracker utilizes industry standards when it comes to secure transmission. Incident Tracker is delivered over 256 bit encryption (SSL), this means that all of the data you send or receive when interacting with the program is encrypted so if a third party maliciously attempted to steal the information while in electronic transit they would have no way of reading the data. The secure seal logo in the footer of each page represent that the site is secure and insured, the seal is click-able and provides more information on the data protection guarantee. The important data is also stored in a relational database which provides a further layer of protection due to the on demand nature of this data (it is not loaded until requested) and the complexity of the data relations. All calls to the database are 'parameterized', this protects from injection attacks and provides a similar layer of protection as 'salting' (a term used to describe a middle layer of protection from certain types of brute force or dictionary attacks). The program also requires a user id and a password be entered before access is granted and the passwords are hashed (another layer of security) on top of being encrypted and each user has an associated set of rights; so the program admin can control what access a user has to information at the application level. The data stored is backed up multiple times daily and replicated to multiple server farms. Only certified McKula Inc employees have raw access to the files, although since the files themselves are stored in a relational database without the program the files have little meaning. It's like having a lock with no key. The only way to view the data is to have it consumed inside of the program which is layered (as described above) within a secure framework. Only paying customers have access to both the "lock and key". * This article references built-in security with the hosted solution. If the program is purchased and hosted by the customer security is managed by the customer.
