INCISENT LABS

INCISENT Technologies, founded in 2001 is a technology company based in downtown Chicago, with software development centers in Chicago and Austin, TX. We create technology that puts sophisticated business intelligence and Internet marketing software into the hands of non-technical front line employees, with proven bottom-line results. We are currently looking for a Software Development Manager to join our team in Chicago. You will work with small, highly skilled team of software engineers, architects and QA staff building software using a mix of ASP.Net and J2EE technologies. Our projects are fast paced and use cutting edge technologies. We are looking for a person with a combination of technical acumen, project management and people skills to take responsibility for planning, tracking and facilitating the successful execution of product development initiatives against aggressive deadlines. This is a very hands-on, technical role, and you will be expected to engage productively with engineers at the code level and help build project plans that account accurately for technical issues, as well as help guide problem resolution during project execution. Prior experience managing teams as a technical team lead is critical. Specific day to day responsibilities will include: Project planning and resource assignment-we build project plans bottom up based on technical designs and work estimates from engineers and the project manager needs to have the technical knowledge to synthesize a realistic project plan that aligns deliverables with business objectives from these inputs. You will maintain detailed task lists, collect and report status, and re-plan and communicate changes in plans as needed during the lifecycle of the project. Facilitate communications between engineering, product management and QA to ensure cross team deliverables are clearly identified and tracked. Facilitate technical brainstorming sessions with engineers as needed to help resolve issues during project execution. Co-ordinate defect management and resolution for deployed production software. Own build and release management-we operate on 4 week release cycles with multiple parallel streams of work on-going concurrently, and the development manager will be responsible for planning and coordinating these streams of work. In your day to day role, you will work directly with executive management, software engineers and architects, product managers and QA analysts. We are looking for self-starters with a great drive, enthusiasm and motivation who are able to lead and motivate a team working on very challenging projects.
