IOR Petroleum
IOR was founded in 1984 with the commissioning of a 1250 barrel per day oil refinery at the small town of Eromanga, Queensland - a remote and climatically harsh part of desert Australia. Since then, IOR has been continuously refining locally produced crude oils into fuels and specialty petroleum solvents for local and industrial markets within Australia. In 1996 IOR was succesful in discovering the Inland Oilfield which is in the top 10 of oil fields by size in onshore Australia. The field facilities were installed by IOR with production coming on line within 3 months of discovery. IOR has since acquired exploration and production interests in the Cooper and Otway Basins of onshore Australia. IOR has built a reputation for innovation and practical technology to assist customers operating in remote regions where transport and operating costs are high and reliable supporting services problematic. This has taken us to Russian Siberia and the highlands of Papua New Guinea where we have supplied and installed mini oil refineries as well as a number of successful startup companies within Australia which have been divested.
