Ignatius Park College

Ignatius Park's St Vincent de Paul chapter is a very active and enthusiastic group who work year-round on fundraising and community service projects. Our philosophy aligns well with the EREA charter of service, and we aim our activities at three different levels: parish, local community and global community. As well as constant fundraising through sausage sizzles and fundraising days, we aim to give practical hands-on help wherever possible. Some of the activities undertaken have included preparing 'Home Sweet Packages' for the victims of Queensland's floods and cyclones, preparing food parcels for members of the parish and cooking breakfast for homeless people in the Townsville community. We also aim to make a difference at those times during the year, such as Christmas and Easter, when families often struggle to provide extras for their children. We collect Easter eggs and Christmas gifts for needy families, distributing these through our parish office.
