James Irwin Charter Schools

James Irwin Charter Schools ("JICS") is a Charter Management Organization ("CMO"), a nonprofit that was formed to administratively support James Irwin Charter High School, James Irwin Charter Middle School, James Irwin Charter Elementary School, as well as new schools embracing our culture, performance, and mission. CMOs are typically nonprofit entities that start and manage new charter schools. By centralizing and sharing certain functions and resources across schools, CMOs aim to enhance school performance and student outcomes, achieve greater efficiency, and expand and sustain schools. With continued growth, JICS hopes to support more schools in the future with its brand of excellence in administrative care, spreading the founders' mission "to help guide students in the development of their character and academic potential through academically rigorous, content-rich educational programs." JICS provides the following administrative functions for the schools: Payroll Benefits Human Resources Legal Documentation Information Technology Financial Reporting Budgeting Fundraising Our Board of Directors is comprised of a combination of parents, school officials, charter school advocates, and other community leaders. This board governs the activities of the CMO, while the schools have their own board to help govern their activities.
