J Choate Basketry

We still make a presence at our local Farmers Market in Sandpoint (see our sister site Coolbikebasket.com) and occasionally we make an appearance at a basket convention (CBBG Retreat, NW Guild Retreat) but for the most part our traveling days are behind us. We like this side of the Rocky mountains and we're sticking to it. Through out the years we've offered several basket retreats in Alaska, Missouri, New Mexico, and now in Sandpoint, Idaho. The Western Pleasure Basket Retreat is a pick-ur-passion event where you select what type of basketry you'd like to learn. Hosted at a working guest ranch outside of Sandpoint the retreat offers scenic mountain vistas, trail rides, horse drawn wagon rides, as well as massage (and of course some exceptional basketry).
