J.G. Ross

JG Ross is a second generation family business based within the North East of Scotland. Established in 1962 the company has grown significantly over the years. JG Ross produce products for both retail and wholesale customers. Geographically the company has shops from Stonehaven in the south to Elgin in the north. A wide selection of our products are also available in a number of retail supermarkets and stores including selected Tesco, Scottish Co-op, Somerfield, Costcutter and Asda. We currently employ around 400 staff throughout the North East of Scotland in 28 locations including our two production facilities, one based in Portsoy and the head office based at Highclere Business Park in Inverurie. Although the company is managed by brothers Graeme and Cameron Ross, Executive Chairman and founder of the business George still plays an active and valuable advisory role within the company. Graeme Ross, Commercial Director, who is a Chartered Accountant and MBA joint manages the business with Production Director and experienced Craft Baker, Cameron Ross. Their vision is to establish JG Ross as a major Scottish Food Producer, whilst maintaining traditional methods and recipes in a craft industry. Our head office at Highclere Business Park is a £4+ million purpose built, state of the art bakery, coffee shop, convenience store and children's play area, which opened in March 2007. Later that year in June the Highclere premises enjoyed an open day attend by Celebrity Chef Nick Nairn and Scotland's First Minister Alex Salmond, before it's official Royal Opening by HRH Princess Royal in September. The JG Ross product range has developed with time and also offers a selection of non-bakery items to meet with consumer demand. A wide range of high quality pre-packed sandwiches for retail and wholesale markets is also now produced from our Highclere premises. Using our own freshly baked bread and homemade sandwich fillings the sandwich range has grown into a substantial part of the business's continual success. Throughout our shops, production areas and offices we are very fortunate to have many dedicated staff, including a team of 7 managers. We are also very proud to have 31 members of staff who have been with us for over 10 years, accumulating over 500 years service! With such enthusiastic people working for us we have been successful in achieving numerous awards and notable achievements. These include: Gold Award for Commitment to Healthy Eating, Grampian Food Forum, Inovation Awards 2009 Ross's Coffee Shop awarded an EatScotland Certification.
