Joyful Butterfly

Joyful Butterfly was created out of my growing adoration for butterflies. I am a wife and a Mom of two young kids. As of the beginning of 2012 my daughter is six years old and my son is almost five years old. We started growing caterpillars indoors about 5 years ago by accident (we found some caterpillars on our parsley) and we quickly became enamoured by these beautiful insects. We read everything we can about butterflies and continue to expand our garden each year to attract different butterflies. We look forward to each spring/summer and the new adventures we will have with our butterfly friends. I have been amazed at how much fun my kids and I have with the amazing butterfly metamorphosis. Butterflies have provided us a high level of education and entertainment (and even exercise chasing them around outdoors)! The goal of this website is to share the fascination and fun we have had and continue to have attracting and raising butterflies, eggs, caterpillars, and chrysalises indoors and out. Also we want to share all the wonderful extras that go along with butterflies like butterfly gardening, photos, plants and seeds.
