A venture development lab is a company that brings ideas, resources, talent, capital and management together to form new startups. Our goal is to consider several extraordinary ideas a year, both internally and externally sourced, and to launch those that best fit our interests, match our network and offer the greatest return on our resources. We've been doing the "venture development lab" model since 2001, when our founder sold out of Questia Media, the world's largest digital library. In addition to independently launching new ventures, we've also done active angel investing, served on boards of directors, worked with venture capital firms to explore new technologies and launch new companies, developed and launched venture acceleration programs, advised early-stage companies, provided interim executive leadership and jointly launched new companies with other labs, entrepreneurs and VC firms.
