Junnikkala is committed in its whole operations to the principles of sustainable development. In our wood procurement we ensure that the biodiversity of the forest is supported, detrimental effects on waterways and groundwater are minimised and factors relating to the landscape are taken into consideration in the planning of loggings. Junnikkala prevents pollution and makes economic use of raw materials, encourages the use of by-products and reduces waste as well as improves its effective usability. Trained workers understand the importance of protecting the environment. Education and information exchange are important tasks for Junnikkala. When we deliver our products to our customers, we look for the most optimal and most environmentally-friendly transport modes and routes. Junnikkala meets the internationally accepted, standardized environmental management systems: ISO 14001 - 2004 and the Annex 4 of PEFC Technical Documentation 2004 standard - the wood directive for declaring the place of origin.
