Kiviõli Keemiatööstus

The production units of the company established in 1922 are located in the town of Kiviõli in Ida-Viru County. KKT extracts oil shale in the North Kiviõli extraction site and nearly 1.5 million tonnes of oil shale is extracted annually. Combined heating and power production covers the heating needs of both the company and the town of Kiviõli. The power produced by KKT is consumed at the company and it is also forwarded to the distribution network. KKT employs nearly 600 people, the majority of whom are the citizens of Lüganuse rural municipality. History
