Kolumbus AS

On June 13, 2017, Rogaland County Council decided that Kolumbus should go from being a bus and boat operator to becoming a mobility provider. This implies that we will still be responsible for the bus and boat traffic in Rogaland. In addition, we will work towards connecting trains, bikes, walking and car sharing seamlessly with bus and boat so people will get from A to Z without using their own car. The keywords are correspondence as well as customised and updated information. On September 7, 2017, Kolumbus and the Norwegian Railway Directorate signed an agreement on route, fare and ticket cooperation in Rogaland. The agreement ensures a seamless journey by bus and local train in Rogaland with a similar fare and ticket system, as well as corresponding departure times. In addition to a zero growth in car traffic, Kolumbus will contribute to a better Rogaland by offering fossil free transport by 2024. This entails a transition to organic HVO diesel, hybrid operation and fully electric vehicles over the next few years. The transport by bus and boat itself is operated by companies on contract with Kolumbus. We have a total of 450 buses, 10 speedboats and 3 ferries. From Monday to Friday, there are 85,000 daily trips with Kolumbus. Last updated : 16.05.2019
