Kona Cleaners started it's business back in 1950. It moved to it's current location at 333 E 17th Street back in 1960. Kona Cleaners is family owned and operated by Bobby Patel, who has owned the store location since 1995. Since that purchase, Bobby has added 8 more locations in Orange County, plus Pick Up and Delivery routes to service your homes directly. Bobby's background as an engineer developed his passion for technology. He believes that the more you automate the day to day drudgery of repeated movements, the more you will succeed. "Let automation do the tedious work and put skilled associates to the final touches," he says, "… workers are partners in every successful business." Hi-Tech Meets Skilled Workers - Employee training is extremely important. It benefits the business as well as it's clients because it improves quality. Training ensures on-time deliveries and minimizes mistakes. One of Kona's unique machineries is the Metalprogetti Assembly System. This sophisticated system sorts, assembles & puts poly film on every garment flawlessly. This new technology allowed us to reassign team members to more challenging roles as in quality control because some aspects of the business still requires human intervention - like checking for missing buttons. (Let's face it, there is no technology that checks for loose buttons).
