Kolkhorst Petroleum is an authorized distributor of Exxon, Mobil and Shell gasolines and diesel and unbranded commercial diesel fuels based in Navasota, Texas. It is also a marketer of Valero fuels. The company, which was founded in 1962, operates 13 Rattlers convenience stores across the Brazos Valley in Texas. The Rattlers brand was developed in 2004. At that time, Kolkhorst Petroleum was operating several convenience stores under different names when it decided create a single brand image with a consistent interior offering that would better serve its customers. Rattlers was voted The Eagle's Readers' Choice Award for Best Convenience store in 2011 and 2012. The company is guided by its "Friendly - Clean - Texan" motto.
