On January 1, 2014, KRISO was launched as an affiliate of Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology. As a leader in technology development in ship and ocean engineering, KRISO is striving to resolve national problems by developing, applying, commercializing and researching original technology. KRISO is also making efforts to meet the demand for technology and policy by carrying out innovative research on leading international standards. To this end, KRISO is conducting research in a range of areas, including environmentally friendly future shipping technology, ships and ocean engineering technology, maritime accident response and marine traffic system technology, and underwater robot and maritime equipment technology. In the future, KRISO will strive to strengthen the competitiveness of the shipping industry - a driver behind national economic growth - and the shipping and ocean engineering industry - a new growth food industry. KRISO will play a leading role in developing technology, devising national policies and responding to international regulations. This will pave the way for the development of the ships and ocean engineering industry and, in turn, national economic growth. Share This
