Kungälv

Kunglvs Kommun is a municipality in Västra Götaland County, the former Gothenburg and Bohus. The municipality is located in the southern part of the province Bohuslän and is bordered to the south by the municipality of Gothenburg, in the southwest to Öckerö Municipality, in the northwest to Tjörn and in the north of Stenungsund, all the former Gothenburg and Bohus. To the north is also Lilla Edet and in the east Ale, both in the former county of Älvsborg. The municipality has the Gota River to the east, Northern River in the south and the Kattegat and Skagerrak in the west. The border between Kattegat, Skagerrak to the south and to the north goes from the Pater Noster islands outside Marstrand in Kungälv municipality to Danish Skagen's northern tip. Kungälv municipality is a member of the Göteborg Region Association of Local Authorities.
