Labib Medical Center

Labib Medical center was founded in 1974 by the late Dr. Labib Kamel Abouzahr, a general surgeon who graduated from the American University of Beirut in 1943 with an M.D. degree and had his specialty training at the American University of Beirut Medical Center and at Fordham Hospital in New York. The efforts of both Dr. Abouzahr and the management have broadened the scope of services rendered at LMC. It brought the hospital from a 52 bed hospital in 1974 to a 125 bed hospital at present. Before establishing LMC; Dr. Abouzahr had his first hospital "Al Ahli Hospital" in the old city of Saida, that he ran from 1954 till 1974. This was one of the first hospitals serving Saida, the south of Lebanon & Iklim Al-Kharoub in Mount Lebanon. As LMC started functioning.
