C.W. Otto Middle School

C. W. Otto Middle School is an urban school with a population of approximately 850 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students, representing the following diverse ethnic groups: American Indian, 2%; Black, 28%; Asian, 4%; Hispanic, 16%; and White, 50%. The school is located in a commercial/residential area of northeast Lansing, the capital city of Michigan. Otto Middle School experiences many of the challenges facing urban schools; in conjunction with these challenges, we at Otto are striving to help our students make continuous progress toward the achievement of the various grade objectives, continuous development of individual talents, skills, ideas and interests, and an increased acquisition of the necessary social skills for school success.
