LApaw.com was conceived by Shelly Woodson, owner of La Cañada Pet Grooming, a specialized boutique grooming service for dogs and cats. Founded in 1990, La Cañada Pet Grooming is nestled in the foothills above Los Angeles. Shelly has spent her lifetime caring for animals and, time and time again, has witnessed the heartaches of family, friends and customers who lose their pets. Shelly hopes that the LApaw pet collars will reunite many lost pets with their loved ones! This site is dedicated to Maggy, our bossy 14-year-old Border Collie mix, the real boss of La Cañada Pet Grooming. It was Maggy who inspired the email collar. While making a personalized leather collar for her, we came up with the idea of using email addresses for pets. Maggy thought having an email address embroidered on her collar was cool, and she knew it meant extra protection in case she wandered away. Now Maggy is with us only in spirit, but her loving presence will always inspire us.
