Ladoke Akintola University of Technology

The University was established on April 23, 1990 under the old Oyo State with the name Oyo State University of Technology, Ogbomoso (OSUTECH). Upon the creation of the Osun State out of the Old Oyo State in 1991, the name of the University was changed to LadokeAkintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso (LAUTECH). The University was jointly owned by the Oyo and Osun States until November 20, 2020 when the University became solely owned by the Oyo State following a mutual agreement between the two states. LAUTECH as a university and its staff has won many awards and accolades among which are: Best State University in Nigeria. Best University of Technology in Nigeria 11th best University in Nigeria in terms of research 74th best University in Africa in terms of research. 4th best university in Nigeria. LAUTECH has a student population of about thirty thousand (30,000) and has more than three thousand (3,000) highly skilled and internationally acclaimed staff (academic, nonteaching and contract) in its employ. The quality of staff has consistently reflected in the standard of works being done in LAUTECH. It has also reflected in the awards and laurels being won regularly by the University. Today, LAUTECH offers varying degree programmes in twelve faculties of: 1. Agricultural Sciences, 2. Basic Medical Sciences 3. Basic Clinical Sciences 4. Clinical Sciences 5. Nursing Sciences 6. Computing and Informatics 7. Environmental Sciences 8. Engineering and Technology 9. Food and Consumer Sciences 10. Pure and Applied Sciences; 11. Management Sciences. 12. Renewable Natural Resources (Iseyin Campus) LAUTECH operates on two campuses i.e. the Main Campus in Ogbomoso and the newly established College of Agriculture and Renewable Natural Resources in Iseyin.
