Lee Builders (LBI) was incorporated in 1984 when C.C. 'Jack' Lee joined forces with two of his sons, Jeff and Bruce Lee, in the construction business. Jeff and Bruce owned their own individual construction companies, while Jack was a Vice President of Thiokol Corporation, and General Manager of the Huntsville Division. In 1987, Bobby Lee graduated in Mechanical Engineering from UAH, and became the forth partner at Lee Builders. In the 1990s, LBI expanded to include larger, multi-million dollar projects for schools, churches, offices, banks, government facilities, laboratories and custom homes. Recently, Joe Lee, General Manager of Lee Builders, returned to Huntsville to participate in the business. Joe worked for more than 30 years at Scimetrics, Inc. a Houston, TX based company, as General Manager and Vice President. Joe stated that, "Lee Builders is a good-sized, local corporation that the Huntsville community identifies as a builder with integrity and a commitment to quality. I am excited to have come home to this growing and progressive business and community." Over the years, they have built or remodeled over 25 facilities on Redstone Arsenal, such as offices, light industrial buildings, and test labs. Much of their Arsenal work has been done for NASA, but their client list also includes the Corps of Engineers, the Army, and other agencies. In recognition of their work, Lee Builders was awarded the Associated Builders and Contractors 'Award of Excellence in 2004' in the $2 -$5 million category for the Huntsville Office and Transfer Station.
