Linda Z's Sewing Center

Linda Z's has been serving the Arlington Heights area since 1967! Actually, it started before then, because Linda's mother was very accomplished in the field of sewing and Linda obviously grew up knowing the difference between a Singer and a singer. At the University of Minnesota, Linda observed and ultimately took some classes in lingerie sewing. She was fascinated by this very intricate type of sewing, but it was off to Chicago to teach school. Lingerie sewing never lost its appeal, however, and Linda found an opportunity to incorporate this expertise into an adult education program. She wrote a book which was used as a curriculum guide, Munsingwear sent some fabric, and before she knew it, doors were open to the first Linda Z's, which was at that time in Des Plaines. Before long, space dictated a move for Mt. Prospect Plaza, where she expanded once again before buying her own shopping center in Arlington Heights. Meanwhile, she also managed time for marriage, three children, another undergraduate degree in business from De Paul University, and her MBA from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Business. In addition, she is the past president of the International Sewing Machine Association and was on the board of the Home Sewing Association. Today, Linda Z's offers classes for all ages, at all levels of expertise and all interests. These Classes are taught by trained home economists. Besides that, two full-time and two part-time service technicians man the Service Center for on-premise repair of all brands.
