LLCF West was founded in 2003 as the 6th church plant from Light and Life North in their vision "Mission 2010. "Mission 2010" was the Vision of Pastor Larry Walkemeyer and Light and Life North Church to plant a church in each of the city council districts in Long Beach. Light and Life West was commissioned to District 7. Before we became a church plant, we held a Saturday night service called "Urban Praise. In September of 2003, a core team of approximately 80 adults (comprised of leaders and regular attendees of the Urban Praise service) trusted God in being the heart of God in another section of our wonderful city of Long Beach. Since our beginning, it is evident that we are a multi-ethnic congregation with a heart to be a healthy community of life-giving Christians who are devoted to being followers of Jesus Christ. Based on our Core Values: Obedience to the Word, Prayer, Fellowship, Discipleship and Family, we are committed to pursuing the kind of authentic Christianity that will enable God to use us to be His Light and Life here on this earth.
