Lone Oak Campsites

Lone Oak Campsites

Lone Oak Campsites was established in 1964 by Abraham "Bucky" and Rosalie Brown. The idea of building a campground came from a magazine article describing how farmers were developing some of their land as campsites for extra income. The original Oak Tree is still alive and located in the middle of a corn field on Browns Lane, about a quarter of a mile from the campground. Lone Oak Farm became Lone Oak Campsites. In 1993 Bucky sold Lone Oak to his two sons Peter and Barry. Along with approximately 80 team members, Barry and Peter are here to continue the family business. Lone Oak Campsites is the largest private family campground in Connecticut. We have 500 campsites which are made up of approximately 275 seasonal families who rent for 6 months. The other 225 sites are rented out by the day, week or month. We offer an extensive recreation program, childrens activities, supervised programs and kids clubs. We have an adult lounge where adults can enjoy bands or DJ's every weekend. We provide family entertainment in the lounge, in our recreation hall as well as at our gazebo. Families can shop in our Market and Deli for supplies or purchase lunch for the whole family. Our security in the campground is practically 24 hours. We have security staff patrolling days and evenings, as well as at a gate checking in guests and assisting our guests and ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for our camping families. Our maintenance department is kept busy with keeping the grounds looking great.
