About the Longboat Key Foundation: The Longboat Key Foundation is a component fund of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The Longboat Key Foundation helps donors address community needs and aspirations. The Foundation identifies and pursues initiatives to enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors in our island community on Florida's West Coast. The Foundation's work is guided by a diverse, volunteer advisory board that includes Longboat Key residents and other stakeholders committed to the longterm sustainability and livability of the key. The Foundation's primary areas of focus include arts and culture; education; environment and s ustainability; health and human services; and parks and recreation.
