Lorenz Clinic offers comprehensive psychological, psychoeducational, and neurocognitive testing for: Young Children (ages 2.5-5) Children (ages 6-12) Adolescents (ages 13-18) Adults We have the value that, in order to provide excellent testing that encapsulates a person's injury, the evaluator must first be an amazing therapist. All our evaluators were first trained as psychotherapists. The clinic's testing program is distincitve in that all evaluators are trained in family dynamics in addition to psychological evaluation. Examples of areas we evaluate include: Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Complex Trauma Disordered Attachment Learning Disabilities Mood Disorders Diagnostic Clarifications Personaility Disorders Pediatric psychological testing is an especially specialized service in high demand. Like most clinics, there is typically a two or three-month waitlist for our testing services. Not every case demands invasive psychological testing. Like your physician's office, there is a continuum of assessment measures in the field of psychology. If you had a broken arm, your physician would likely progress through a continuum of assessment means, each carrying a higher level of risk, invasiveness, and expense: an interview, examining the arm visually, ordering an x-ray, doing an MRI, surgery. This progression is analagous to that of psychological evaluation. Good evaluators always start with a Diagnostic Assessment check-up, a semi-structured interview where the evaluator assesses symptoms. Just like how a physician can't order an MRI without working through prior appropriate measures, psychological testing can only be "ordered up" after the evaluator deems it medically necessary. After a diagnostic assessment, it is possible the evaluator might determine testing is not necessary to the diagnostic process. Note: We do not offer forensic or court-ordered evaluations.
