Naomi Sioux is a Afro-Caribbean Performance Artist, it all started in with Ekome Ghanaian Dance Company in 1988. She received a BTEC Diploma in Dance Movement Therapy and Expressive Arts from Dancevoice in 1997; she also has a degree in Creative Writing and Dance where she specialized in Teaching, Performing and Researching traditional Ngoma (East African, Cameroonian and Ghanaian Dance).As a Director, Naomi Sioux produced her first Immersive Theatre Festival at Bath Spa University in partnership with Phatix Dance Company in 2001.She formed Cybasamba from 2002-2006. In 2006 Naomi Sioux was made a OneDance Trailblazer Fellow and Curator of Public Programmes at Tate Modern Gallery London in 2007.A specialist in Theatre of the Oppressed Naomi has led, and performed in Arts educational projects for adults and young people with a number of Theatre Companies including Cardboard Citizens 2005-6; Collective Artistes 2005, Lost Vagueness 2005, and Emergency Exit Arts 2004-5.Chickenshed Theatre Company (2005-2007). Love Activist Dance was formed by Naomi in 2013, and toured Regiment ( Richmix: Dance and Disobedience Festival 2013), Hackney Wicked 2013, Freeze (Prague) 2013), A dancefilm short about Mental Transformative experiences ; Naomi Sioux has also collaborated in traditional contemporary dance theatre, most recently in Salt and Saturation (Dir Klo Harris) A Primal somatic movement performance exploring life forms evolutionary tribal interconnectedness ( Michael Tippett Theatre, Bath 2015), Live Art with Simon Vincenzi and Graham Ellard (2018) and Interactive Performance (Kimetika studio 2018). Naomi Siouxs current practice centres around ritual performance poetry of the sacred feminine: Tri-Sioux Dialogues A riotous celebration of Female Identity and Heritage.
