Maha Mind Bhutan Travel is a travel company with a purpose. We are a social business that operates for the benefit of addressing a social need rather than to maximize profit. At Maha Mind Travel we seek to serve the most disadvantaged in our community. We do this in the following ways: 1) We donate 50% of our net profit to Phajoding Monastery for the care and education of underprivileged young boys. Phajoding is located above the capital city, Thimphu and is a picturesque 3-hour hike through blue pine forest. Many of our guests choose to visit this monastery to meet the young monks and to witness firsthand the benefits of their support. Phajoding Monastery is one of the most sacred monasteries in Bhutan. It is a famous meditation site which also serves as an orphanage for disadvantaged boys. Due to financial hardships they are unable to increase the number of impoverished boys under their care. Maha Mind Travel strives to support the senior monks at this monastery in their vision to care for and educate more boys. The senior monks of this monastery have developed a website to increase the awareness of their cause.
