Matthew Arnold School
At The Matthew Arnold School we aim to raise the self-esteem and achievement of students through their participation in out-of-school-hours provision and their contribution to the community in which they live. We understand that what goes on in classrooms during school hours is only part of the learning opportunities we offer our pupils. We take pride in and celebrate all the extra work done throughout the year during informal learning activities which widen and extend our students' experiences and aspirations. We believe our enrichment programme brings noticeable improvements in enjoyment and student motivation, encouraging a heightened interest in formal learning. Unusual and varied learning environments stimulate and inspire our students to achieve more. Our House system encourages healthy competition and team work. Curriculum Enrichment activities are designed to motivate and raise aspirations. These activities may be in school or extend beyond the school day.
