The name Meltek is derived from the Latin word Meliora, "to make better. Meliora is the motto of our founders alma mater. At the University of Rochester, Meliora inspires all to expand the limits of knowledge and tackle some of today&s;s most complex problems, such as climate change, and to improve the health and well-being of its communities. It moves all to expand their imagination, explore, perfect, innovate, and prosper! Meliora Technologies or Meltek embodies these values. Coincidentally, Meli also means honey in Greek. Greek honey is revered worldwide, and like all honey, it depends on the bee population, which climate change has decimated. At Meltek, we are using technology to solve some of the problems in our communities, specifically how we consume energy to reduce greenhouse gasses, and yes, save bees while doing it.
