Merion Mercy Academy

Merion Mercy Academy is a Catholic, independent, preparatory high school for girls sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy of Merion. Located just outside Philadelphia, MMA serves a population from Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties and students traveling from south New Jersey. We opened our doors in 1884 and had our first graduating class in 1895. Now, 124 years since our founding, we have 490 young women who are learning the importance of scholarship, leadership, character, and service to others. An important part of our mission has been the service of the poor and unfortunate. Catherine McAuley, the foundress of the Sisters of Mercy established her community as a way to connect those with means to the more unfortunate. Our students take this mandate seriously as they have reached out to others in meaningful and responsive ways. As you explore our website, you will find more information about Merion Mercy.
