Startup Weekend is a global network of passionate leaders and entrepreneurs on a mission to inspire, educate, and empower individuals, teams, and communities. It is a pitching and development competition geared towards producing a new breed of IT and knowledge entrepreneurs from parts of the world. Currently, SW has held over 1, 500 startup events in some 120 countries and 723 cities; participated by over 123, 000 entrepreneurs and producing some 13, 000 startups.
