The MHPSS Network

Since 2011, mhpss.net has provided access to resources, information and support for the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) community. Through its innovative approach to communities of practice, mhpss.net aims to contribute to the strengthening of MHPSS services and interventions in both emergency contexts and situations of longer term adversity. Since the network's inception, membership of mhpss.net has grown to over 3800 members, reflecting a growing engagement by practitioners, researchers, policy makers and others in the field of MHPSS. In the past three years, mhpss.net has had over 90,000 unique visitors from nearly 220 countries and territories, and from over 7150 cities. The site now contains nearly 3500 resources on diverse MHPSS topics, for the most part uploaded by mhpss.net members. Whilst mhpss.net's reach and membership continues to grow, we are now seeking to understand more precisely how mhpss.net is contributing to enhanced and improved MHPSS learning and practices in emergency and adversity contexts. An independent evaluation of mhpss.net is now underway to assess the effectiveness, quality and performance of the network. Primarily, we will be looking at site analytics, an online survey and a series of in-depth interviews that are currently being carried out with a systematic sample of the mhpss.net members. Results of the evaluation will be available by February 2016.
